For years I have listened to the political promises to maintain the “village atmosphere” and quality of life that we expect as residents of Coronado. Unfortunately, the “village atmosphere” and quality of life have not been preserved. I am a homeowner, I have raised a family here, and I have no special interests or financial agenda which would threaten the style and quality of life for mainstream Coronado. I understand the needs, and share the concerns, of the mainstream residents of Coronado. I would like to work to restore the “village atmosphere” that has made Coronado such an enjoyable place to live and visit.
During my 30 years of service to our country in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 2003 as a Captain, I have proven my leadership abilities. Coronado needs my leadership to address the many critical issues facing our community. Coronado’s seemingly uncontrolled building policies have adversely impacted homeowners, traffic continues to be a problem (both the quantity and quality), the small business environment that is unique to Coronado must be preserved, our police and fire departments need the personnel and resources to better enforce those laws designed to ensure the peaceful enjoyment of our town and protect our safety. We must coordinate better with the Navy to balance the often competing concerns of our national defense and the quality of life in our community. The City Council should better represent the mainstream citizens of Coronado.
